Bret Laughlin – President, CEO, and Co-Founder

Bret Laughlin oversees the technology, expansion, marketing and administration of Orange Legal Technologies and The Litigation Document Group. Bret started in the litigation support industry in 1995 and has successfully built his companies from one office in Salt Lake City to three offices throughout the western states.

Bret founded Orange Legal Technologies in 2007 to expand operations into larger markets such as San Francisco and Los Angeles, as well as focus primarily on the growing electronic discovery market. With the acquisition of the OneO® Discovery Platform, Bret has positioned Orange Legal Technologies to take advantage of the expanding electronic discovery opportunity.

Bret is an alumnus of the University of Utah.

Michael Delis – Vice President of Business Operations

Michael Delis is a proven legal technology expert with extensive experience in both the enterprise technical and commercial business aspects of legal technology.   With a background steeped in client interaction and support, his expertise ranges from the practical execution of legal document coding to enterprise product line design, development, and maintenance for commercial electronic discovery technologies.  Having served with industry leading corporations to include IKON Office Solutions, CaseData Corporation, Oce Business Services and General Motors Corporation, Michael is a Six Sigma Green belt and holds a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certificate.

Michael has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Rob Robinson – Vice President of Marketing

Rob Robinson is responsible for marketing at Orange Legal Technologies.  Based in Austin, Texas, Rob is a proven eDiscovery marketer who has held senior leadership positions with several top tier providers to include roles as the Vice President of Marketing at ONSITE3 and Senior Director of Marketing at Applied Discovery (LexisNexis) and RenewData. With a strong interest in social media from both a marketing and eDiscovery perspective, Rob holds a Certified Electronic Discovery Specialist (CEDS) certification from the Association of Electronic Discovery Specialists (ACEDS) as well as a Certificate of eDiscovery from the Electronic Discovery and Evidence Training Institute. He has also had senior level managerial leadership positions in technology-centric organizations to include Crossroads Systems (Director of Marketing – Storage Area Networking), Azurix (Director of Procurement Services – B2B Online Marketplace) and Compaq Computer (Product Manager – Deskpro and Prosignia Product Lines).

A former U.S. Army Captain and Pilot, Rob is an alumnus of the University of Mississippi.

John Munro – Vice President and Managing Director – Pacific Northwest

John Munro is a known and acknowledged industry expert with a specialization in the management of large data sets in support of complex electronic discovery matters. With a balance of electronic discovery executional knowledge and technical development skills, over the course of his career John has supported clients in tasks ranging from the economics of eDiscovery to the development of production level workflows.  John holds a Certified Electronic Discovery Specialist (CEDS) certification from the Association of Electronic Discovery Specialists (ACEDS). Additionally, as a development manager, John has developed and managed multiple document management systems, on-line document repositories, and electronic data processing applications.

An accomplished speaker, John frequently speaks on innovations and challenges relating to information management, electronic discovery, document review, and computer forensics.

Nicole Brumble – Director of Client Services

Nicole Brumble is a proven client services professional with demonstrated expertise in project management in the electronic discovery domain in support of law firm, corporate and governmental clients involved in complex, high-volume, highly sensitive litigation, investigations, and audits. She has shown expertise in providing complete electronic discovery support as part of leading national electronic discovery practitioners, including Oce Business Services (provider) and Holme Roberts & Owen (law firm), in addition to supporting AMLAW 200 and Fortune 500 organizations.

Nicole has a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communications from the University of Utah (Pre-Law).

Mike Gutierrez – Director of Digital Forensics

Mike Gutierrez is the Director of Digital Forensics at Orange Legal Technologies and has been involved in the litigation support industry since 2000, filling many different roles, including end-to-end discovery lifecycle consulting, e-discovery project management, digital forensic investigations, electronic data processing, operations management, software training and business development. Mike was directly responsible for Orange Legal Technologies’ expansion into the field of digital forensics as the driver  obtaining the hardware, software and training necessary to administer a full-service digital forensics practice. Mr. Gutierrez regularly coordinates and performs large scale forensic data collections and examinations. Mike’s expertise in digital forensic examinations extends to Macintosh and Linux/UNIX environments. He holds the industry certifications of Certified Computer Examiner (CCE) and EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE).

Al Stephens – Director of Software Development

Al Stephens is a highly skilled software engineering professional that began his professional career as a Process Engineer with Fluor Engineers, Inc. and Bechtel Civil, Inc.

Al was a co-founder of CAE Support, a consulting software engineering company where he performed consulting assignments, managed software development projects, and supervised project teams for clients such as Bechtel, Parsons Brinckerhoff, Willis Corroon, ZDNet and Mindscape.

Prior to joining Orange Legal Technologies, Al was a Software Architect at Kaiser Permanente, where he was responsible for a major re-design of Kaiser’s Northern California Appointment and Advice Call Center application, used by over 2,000 teleservice agents to schedule appointments and provide medical advice for over 3 million plan members. Previously, while working as a Software Architect for Scan-Optics, Al re-architected the ImageEMC document scanning and processing system which resulted in the creation of the ImageEMC++ system, that increased daily document throughput by over 100 times, and won the “Outstanding Product of 1997″ award from Knowledge Management World (KM World) magazine.

Al has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from UC Berkeley, with an Extended Major in Systems Analysis and Applied Mathematics.
